It seems far-fetched to think that feeding times can have an effect on calving times, but they do! Research shows that cattle fed at or around dusk calve in much higher percentages during daylight hours, and cattle fed in the early morning hours tend to calve evenly throughout the day and night. This is great information for our cattlemen out there who are patiently awaiting the calving hour of their first-calf heifers.
