Mutton Bustin' & Calf Scramble at the 2011 SLE Rodeo

In case you missed them last year, 2 of rodeo's most exciting events are coming back to the 2011 SLE Rodeo.

Mutton Bustin' will be held Thursday and Friday nights. The event is open to youth ages 6 and under, under 60 pounds. If interested in participating, please report to the Little Boots Rodeo booth (near the north gate entrance) to be entered into to the drawing to ride. The mounted rodeo announcer will announce when during the rodeo you should meet at the Little Boots Rodeo booth. You will be provided with all the equipment you'll need (helmet, vest, ropes, etc).

The Calf Scramble will be held during the Saturday matinée performance at 2 p.m. The Calf Scramble is open only to youth ages 9-12. Some of the calves turned loose in the arena will have ribbons on their tails that can be returned to a designated SLE official for a cash prize.

  1. That was amazing last year! Watching all of those kids run from the sides of the arena to catch a calf...I had never seen anything like it in my life... :)
