PBCI/SLE County Youth Winners to be Recognized

The Southeastern Livestock Exposition has recently taken advantage of an opportunity to partner with the Poarch Band of Creek Indians in Atmore, AL to recognize and reward youth who are active participants in Alabama’s livestock industry. Through a selection process directed at the county level, two young people per county have been selected to each receive a $250 cash award as well as an invitation to receive their award before a statewide audience during the 2012 Alabama Junior Beef Expo. These outstanding young people represent Alabama's finest livestock showmen as well as those young people who are active in our industry outside the livestock show arena.
Please join us in congratulating this amazing group of young people as they are recognized during a special awards program to be held during the Junior Beef Expo on Saturday March 10th at noon.

Colt Ford & Clint Black Coming to the 2012 SLE Rodeo

Colt Ford has been announced as the Friday night performer and Clint Black has been announced as the Saturday night performer for the 2012 SLE Rodeo.

“We’re really excited about bringing Colt Ford and Clint Black to the SLE Rodeo. Folks that you hear on the radio every day will be right here in Montgomery on a big stage in the Coliseum arena on Friday and Saturday night. That’s a big deal for us and we think it’s a big deal for Montgomery too,” says Camp Powers, President of the Southeastern Livestock Exposition.
All tickets for Friday and Saturday nights will be $22. All Friday and Saturday night rodeo attendees will be admitted free to the concerts with their rodeo tickets. These concerts are due to a sponsorship agreement between the SLE and PCI Gaming. Tickets for Thursday night and the Saturday matinee are priced at $19 for adults and $9 for children.
“More than once, we’ve tried to host entertainers at the SLE Rodeo but just weren’t happy with the result. Thanks to PCI Gaming, we’re bringing in Colt Ford and Clint Black on a stage in the Coliseum after the rodeo. Coupling that with the IPRA National All-Region Finals Rodeo is exciting for rodeo fans and the Southeastern,” says Dr. Billy Powell, Executive Director of the Southeastern Livestock Exposition.
The 2012 SLE Rodeo will be held March 8-10 at Garrett Coliseum in Montgomery. Tickets for all 4 performances are for sale now online through Ticketmaster or by calling 1-888-2RODEO2. As well, rodeo fans can buy their tickets in person from the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association headquarters building or from the Garrett Coliseum the week of the rodeo.
