An exciting program being sponsored by the Alabama Coalition for Farm Animal Care & Well Being is set to debut across Alabama this summer. Animal Ag 101, patterned after a similar effort in Ohio, will bring together law enforcement officials, first responders, animal control officers, and others who are asked to play a roll during incidents of reported animal cruelty or other emergencies involving animals. This course will educate attendees not only on how to evaluate the condition and surroundings of livestock but also how to humanely handle all species of livestock. The course will be taught by veterinarians and other 3rd party experts and will also help establish a network of resources these officials can call upon for help in the future.
